Here's my little companion piece to the Final Fantasy X novelization intro ([link]) you brave souls who chose to read slogged through. I wasn't too keen on just putting that up, so I figured I'd throw a bone out there for those who would rather not read that much.
So yep, even though he's only slightly featured in the story, here's Jecht, candidate for Father of the Year. Though he was a bit of a jerk, Jecht was always one of my favorite elements of the story, in how he was this massive sports star and hero to fans everywhere, who happened to be completely incapable of relating to his own son.
Now on to the piece, I suppose. Though he's a little rough here and there, he's still one that I like quite a bit. In the game, he often had that 'rubbing at his neck' mannerism when he was uncomfortable, so that was a natural thing to put into the piece.
And, for those who haven't played the game, the scene is one of Braska's sphere recordings (this one taken at the Moonflow) during his pilgrimage to battle Sin, hence the blue hue and bubbles. It was during these scenes where Jecht's inner character came out, and where it became clear how he really felt about his son, Tidus.
Thanks for checking him out, and extra kudos for those who trudged through all 14 pages of the companion story.
The excellent stock background fit perfectly, and was taken by . Here's the link to the original picture: [link]

Oh, and Auron in the background is just a shot of the 13" ArtFx figure Square put out a few years back. I had no part in making that figure, to be clear. Just took a picture of his back and manipped him into the picture.

Jecht, Braska, Auron & Final Fantasy X are (c) Square-Enix
That's pretty cool! You don't often see that much fanart sculpture around I like the pose, and the detail on the muscles, particularly the chest area, is good. You've also done a great job in making your figure match with the background in which he stands. Well done!
It is a decent sized chunk of text (not like the 385 pages of my actual book, but decent enough for DA, I'd imagine)...it'll be there for awhile, so take your time.

Oh yes, Jecht was indeed a jerk. Although I never really took that much of a liking to Tidus, he was a bit whiny for my tastes. Nice job.

Yeah, I always preferred Jecht to Tidus overall. I just liked the interpersonal dynamic between the two, more so on Jecht's side, which I thought was a bit more intriguing than Tidus's "blame everything on my dad" half of the equation. I always felt there were reasons for Tidus being on the whiny side, such as being plopped into a world he seemed always trying to catch up on understanding. Still, I can understand as well how a lot of people found him grating.
And thanks! Glad you like it.
